50 FOR 50: CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF HOCKEY AT WILSON PARK
Wilson Park Ice Arena turns 50 years old this year. A staple and iconic part of the Milwaukee County parks system, and youth hockey in southeastern Wisconsin, this rink has been home and hosted tens of thousands of skaters over the years. We wanted to celebrate that by commemorating the park, the rink, and it’s legacy with a line of commemorative goods. Inspired by commemorative jerseys from professional hockey, we’ve gone with a Hawaiian theme, a nod to the pool that is neighbor to the Wilson Park Ice Arena.
In addition, we’re going to invoke another staple youth hockey tradition. The 50/50 fundraiser. Usually, this takes the shape of a 50/50 raffle at big games, tournaments, and showcase weekends. We’re going to draw on that inspiration and declare this shop a 50/50 shop.
All profits from the sale of commemorative Wilson Park Beach Patrol goods will be split 50/50 with the Youth Hockey Helper Foundation of Milwaukee. Youth Hockey Helpers provides scholarships to area skaters, and we could think of no better way to celebrate 50 years of youth hockey at Wilson Park than to support their cause.
Further, we will donate 100% of the profits from every Wilson Park Beach Patrol Platinum Kit sold.
